Forest schools offer a unique approach to learning rooted in outdoor work and hands-on experiences. At MEES we believe this kind of activity to be important, therefore we are incorporating elements into our education as well.
What is Forest School Education? In essence, it's an immersive outdoor learning model that takes place in natural environments like forests but can also be at the beach or in snow landscapes.
MEES the Forest program will offer outdoor sessions on a regular basis.
The forest allows children to break free from the confines of the city with public parks and instead explore the wonders of the natural world at their own pace in an unrestrained environment.
MEES the Forest will help children nurture creativity, create healthy bodies, build resilience and build connection with nature.
Creativity Unleashed: In the forest, imagination has no limits. Children engage in imaginative play, build forts, and create nature-inspired artwork, fostering creativity and innovative thinking.
Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds: Running, climbing, and exploring uneven terrain promote physical fitness and gross motor skills development. Exposure to sunlight and fresh air enhances overall well-being. Additionally, it provides a rich environment for the development of social skills. Through collaborative activities, group problem-solving, and peer interactions in the natural setting, children learn valuable communication skills, teamwork, and cooperation.
Building Resilience: Forest School provides controlled opportunities for risk-taking, fostering resilience and confidence as children navigate challenges in a supportive environment. This approach to risk-taking goes beyond the fear of physical harm; it encourages learners to embrace uncertainty as opportunities for growth and to become antifragile.
Deepening Connection with Nature: Through firsthand experiences like being part of nature, children develop an appreciation for being part of the natural world. Spending time in a forest cultivates a deep sense of connection and belonging to the environment. This immersive experience inspires children to see the natural world as an integral part of their lives., with a responsibility to protect and preserve it for future generations and promotes a lifelong commitment to caring for the planet.
